Comfortable hotel, I appreciated its very central location so close to the Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, 8 minutes walk from the Kyoto central station and 15 minutes walks to the main touristic area and bus station. Super-friendly staff and the room was elegant and huge. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I had a private bathroom🙂

The experience of sleeping on a futon while wearing traditional Japanese pajamas added a unique touch. The option for a private dinner with seasonal ingredients created a nice culinary highlight.
The Japanese-Style Twin Room felt a bit small for a family, which might be expected given the region. The breakfast offered an overwhelming amount of traditional dishes that seemed excessive for those with lighter appetites.

Great and incredible location in Kyoto, right by 8 minutes walk from the Kyoto central station, where the fun area of Kyoto starts and the pretty japanese garden. Besides, very convenient to The Cube.

The staff at Yamadaya Ryokan stood out with their genuine hospitality. Chika, in particular, took the time to explain how to navigate the Japanese customs. We loved our spacious room overlooking the garden, complete with soft futons that provided a comfortable night's sleep. The traditional meals were nothing short of lovely, showcasing seasonal ingredients. The public bath area got quite crowded during peak times, challenging to relax completely. I appreciated the organic and calming ambiance of the ryokan, and the location near Kyoto station allowed us to easily explore the city. It would be wonderful if more dining options were available, as we missed out on desserts during our delicious meals. The experience was nice, and I would definitely recommend it for an authentic stay.
